"Legendary sightseeing and superb hospitality in the Hollywood Hills"

"A great experience! Laurel canyon is beautiful and the history is fascinating. Great views and stories. Joseph was awesome and really fun to hang out with. He was generous and warm. I highly recommend this experience if you love music, history, nature or just want to take in some stunning views and get a new perspective of la. One of the best things I’ve done."

"If you’re looking for a unique experience in LA, this tour of Laurel Canyon is it! It’s perfect for music enthusiasts and people just looking to see beautiful vistas alike. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat."

Michaela, Boston, MA

"This hippie hike experience was outstanding! Best part of my stay in Laurel Canyon. Period. They are both very down to earth good people who went above and beyond what I could have ever dreamed of- super nice people, super cool experience to learn about the music history and see all the famous homes hiking around the streets and hidden pathways of LC. I could have never done this on my own!  And I got to see where David Cassidy lived when he first started out as a 20 year old ...cool beyond belief! I totally recommend Joseph and Tonya’s Hippie Hike.  Very perfect afternoon- I absolutely loved it!"

Sharon, Lake Placid, NY

"This tour was so great! I came to Laurel Canyon to learn more about the music scene and Joseph was able to show us where a lot of musicians lived, which was exactly what I wanted. I wouldn’t have been able to find all these places and navigate the winding roads of the canyon without his help. I would definetly recommend this to someone who wanted to see where a lot of the notable residences of the iconic canyon lived!!  We had a great time on this tour and learned a lot! So glad we booked it!"

Jessie, Amsterdam, NY

"Growing up in LA, I'm proud of our place in rock and roll history-- the Laurel Canyon scene! So I was pretty excited when I saw this tour. We came to see the (past) homes of some of our favorite musicians, but there were quite a few surprises along the way: Amazing views of the city! John Lennon's lost weekend! Neil Young, Mama Cass, and more! Joseph was a friendly and informative host, who showed us places we never would have found on our own. I'm definitely recommending this tour to my friends!"

Joanne, Los Angeles, CA

Great tour around Laurel Canyon, learned a lot about musicians from the 20s-present that lived in the area. Very nice hike and tour.

Chris, Los Angeles, CA

"Joseph and Tonya were great guides around the historic neighborhood of Laurel Canyon. My son and I really enjoyed the hike around the neighborhood. Our guides were both very accommodating and had many interesting facts and stories revolving around the history of the neighborhood they call home. The hike ended at the Country Store right down the street. Great coffee there! This was a great way to see one of the less touristy gems of the greater LA area. This couple also has a lovely Airbnb studio apartment you can stay in as well."

Francis, Archer, FL

"Excellent walk around Laurel Canyon with Joseph. Felt the vibe and the spirit of the place listening to Joseph’s stories about the area. With some fantastic views of LA and taking in some true rock star homes then this hike is a must for anyone visiting Los Angeles!"

Paul, Liverpool, United Kingdom

"This experience was a lot of fun! Took a nice leisurely walk around beautifully unique Laurel Canyon. Joseph was full of great information and had a way of making you feel like a part of the story. I highly recommend this hike!"

Kathy, Wilmington, NC

"If you like to combine a pleasant walk around "LA as a country village" Laurel Canyon with pilgrimage to the songs and artists you love - Neil Young, Zappa, Jackson Browne, Glen Frey / Eagles, Mama Cass, Lennon, Jim Morrison, Slash, Mark Mothersbaugh and Joni (up the hill a-ways but still a Lady of the Canyon), then take this stroll with Joseph and Tonya. Some great views of LA too."
Jeremy, Limpley Stoke, United Kingdom

"What a delightful experience. A must do for anyone interested in the history of Los Angeles and the unique people it has attracted."
Susan, Sherwood Park, Canada

"Joseph & Tonya were really amazing! They made us feel very welcomed and they were very accommodating and considerate. Joseph knew so much history and many details about Laurel Canyon, which was the point of the experience, but he certainly took it a step further and provided us with an amazing time. The experience was my first and they certainly reached expectations."

Yohance, Washington, DC

"An excellent way to spend some time. Joseph was informative and passionate about the canyon. Really interesting and would recommend."
Kevin, Poole, United Kingdom

What a special place Laurel Canyon in! It is hard to believe that it is part of LA. Yes, I saw where Jackson Browne live, as well as heard stories about him and Glen Frey, Mamma Cass, Jim Morrison, and even the cool tree house like house where John Lennon stayed. It was informational, fun, and a great way to get a real sense of the place. Thank you Tonya!

Karen, Newton, MA

"Joseph & Tonya provide a wonderful experience, taking you personally around Laurel Canyon. The area is rich with stories and music history. I thoroughly enjoyed my hike and everything I got to see and learn about. They are part of this community so they have a deep connection to the area and share all of it with their guests. Treat yourself to a fantastic tour and nice way to get your exercise (hiking those hills!) for the day."

Michael, Bartlett, IL

"Fun time with a local resident who has a passion for music and Laurel Canyon culture. Breath-taking views and great conversation. Met several famous locals along the way who stopped to chat with Joseph and us. They even took the time to tell stories. Step back in time to relive the Canyon vibe!"

Faith, Pennsylvania, United States

“Book this tour!!  Laurel Canyon’s rich musical history is literally brought to life, as Joseph leads you through the nooks and crannies of the famed canyon all the way to the summit, which presents 360 degree views of immense beauty; truly a sight u will never forget! We made stops at many iconic homes of yesteryear.  Joe even brought us to the belly of the Canyon Country store; the hidden basement apt that Mama Cass lived in, in the late 60’s. We definitely fell in the love with the spell of the canyon. Thank u for the truly one-of-a-kind experience.”

Megan, California, United States

"My best friend and I have stayed here twice now. It is the perfect little hideaway as the name states but still quite close to everything. The hosts are great and the place is so cute and equipped with anything you could think of. Hope to return again!"

Brenna, Lynn, MA

"This little hidden gem is absolutely beautiful to experience. I can’t decide which part I loved more! First, you walk up the steps to see a beautiful view of the neighborhood covered in bougainvilleas, great architecture, and the radio playing jazz. Walking into the room was such a romantic experience that you couldn’t help to skip a breath as your eyes wander over the canopy bed and art work. As you stand looking around, the breeze rushes into the room as if it has been cleansing the energy just for you! It was one of the best naps I’ve ever had! You walk into the bathroom and the view from the window as you shower was out of this world! It really is a magical place. Lol, I can’t wait to visit LA so that I can stay here again. Because it is definitely worth staying more than once!"
Mikaela, Los Angeles, CA

"This is the best place I’ve been so far. Excellent location, everything you need (and more) is there: from drinks to Netflix. Incredible view and landscape, relaxing on the small balcony or sitting on the facing windows desk is awesome. The hosts are very nice and they do everything to make you comfortable. If you are alone or a couple and are looking for a place to stay in LA that is both charming and relaxing, this is definitely the best choice."

Valerio, Macerata, Italy

"The Hippie Hideaway is the most unique, safe, most relaxing area to stay! What a gem! We were minutes away from the Hollywood strip, but tucked away in Laurel Canyon enough where we had total privacy. This is the perfect place for couples who want to explore LA! We flew in from Pennsylvania not really knowing what we were getting into. The hosts literally made us feel at home. Safe, extremely welcoming and CLEAN! From the stocked mini fridge (beers, wine, soda, etc) and snack basket, to the super comfortable bed and welcoming gift, it was an amazing experience. There’s plenty of treats and treasures for sale in the room so make sure to bring cash! After exploring L.A. there really isn’t a better place to unwind. They’ve literally set a standard. Thank you for making our vacation in L.A. absolutely spectacular with your unmatched hospitality! We will never forget the Hippie Hideaway! 10/10 "

"My wife and I stayed here and it was hands down one of if not the best Airbnb experiences we have ever had. Location is prime for exploring Beverly Hills and it’s surrounding offerings. The host were thorough, easy going, and accommodating and really let you do your own thing. The place itself had a ton of character and really enhanced our experience, we would stay here every time we visit LA if it’s an option."

Rich, Philadelphia, PA

"If only there was a sixth star to convey how amazing this experience was for my husband and I. This was our first trip to CA and the Hippie Hideaway made us feel right at home. Be-it the super- comfy king size bed, the stocked mini-fridge and snacks available, the NPR jazz tunes playing upon arrival or the awesome view of the surrounding Laurel Canyon. This all put us at ease with a great “home-base” to see LA from. SUPER HOSTS! We definitely recommend staying here if you love an atmosphere to relax and decompress from the bustling city just around the bend. Greatful to have had this experience!"

Elizabeth, Chambersburg, PA

"I cannot say enough nice things about how special this place is. You will be instantly transported into the rich history and surroundings of Laurel Canyon the minute you enter the hippie hideaway. On top of this one-of-a-kind opportunity to drop into the middle of the canyon.  Thoughtful treats and amenities tucked into every corner of the place. It's my go-to place now when I come to L.A."
